What:  Wheatscouts - Wheatscouts is a family gathering where children and parents sing, play music, dance, make crafts, listen to stories, enjoy each other and nature.  Pack your kids, dance shoes, instruments, and snacks/beverages.  Leave your pets at home.
When: Saturday, February 13, 2010   Noon - 2pm
Where:  Meet at the Gladys Wernette Classroom Building on Wheatland Music Organization grounds, located at 7251 50th Avenue (2 miles west and 2 miles south of the M-66 and M-20 intersection in Remus, Michigan)
Fee:  No charge

What:  Wheatland Music Organization - Quackgrass/Costabella Cloggers/Wheatland Reunion.  Wake up from your winter hibernation to play, dance, socialize, ski, snowshoe and eat at the annual reunion.  Bring a dish to pass and your own table service, along with the beverage of your choice.  Chances are the music will continue well into the evening.  Think you'll get a better opportunity to bust out of the mid-winter doldrums?
Who:  Old and new, young and old friends
When:  Saturday, February 13, 2010.  2pm 'til late into the evening.  Potluck at 6pm.

What:  Wheatland Music Organization Cajun Mardi Gras Party - Potluck and Dance with music by Back Bayou
Who:   All ages and beginners welcome.  No partner needed.
When:  Saturday, February 20, 2010.  Potluck at 6 pm followed by Dance at 7:30 pm; instruction at beginning of each dance.
Where:  Gladys Wernette Building, located at 7251 50th Avenue (2 miles west and 2 miles south of the M-66 and M-20 intersection in Remus, Michigan.
Fee:  Admission is $5 per person at the door; children under 18 are free

Several artists (storytellers, crafts, children's interactive workshops) are available with two week notice such as:

Ancient Pathways, Native American Storytelling, grades K-6
Tree of Life Drum and Dance Society presenting African drumming & dance for grades K-12.

Wheatland Music Organization also offers:

Individualized and subsidized private lessons in hammered dulcimer, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and banjo.  All ages and beginners welcome. Ongoing throughout the year at mutually agreed upon times and locations.  Half hour ($9) and full hour lessons ($18) are offered in eight week sessions.  Registration is ongoing.  Instruments on loan and scholarships are available for those with financial need.
